How Does It Work?

The laser targets the hemoglobin in the vessels while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. The treated spider veins heat to a point where they coagulate and are left as debris which our body will innately absorb and remove as if it was never there in the first place.

Before the laser vein procedure begins, you will be provided with special protective eyewear to wear for the duration of the treatment. The treatment is virtually painless, and a cooling gel and special handpieces are used to ensure your comfort through the process and to reduce the risk of skin injury. The treatments time can range from 15-60 minutes depending on the number of vessels needed to be treated. Laser vein removal is very individualized based on factors such as skin type, size of actual vessels and number of total vessels to be treated. In many cases, a single treatment is enough to permanently remove visible vessels, however in certain cases multiple treatments may be required. This will be decided during your consultation with your skin specialist.

There is little to no downtime with the laser vein removal procedure, and you will be provided with a printed and electronic copy of your after care instructions. Our medical staff take pride in ensure the best possible outcome in the safest possible way. The potential side effects of laser vein removal include redness, swelling and mild bruising that will go away quickly and you will be able to resume to your regular daily activities immediately.
