How does Fraxel work? | Fraxel is a laser treatment that is FDA and Health Canada approved for skin resurfacing. It works by producing tiny, microscopic injury points in the skin to stimulates one’s own natural healing processes to remodel and regenerate new skin tissue. This new tissue heals beautifully to give your skin a flawless, airbrushed look that will last for years to come. Treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks depending on the area of the body and indication we are treating. |
Does Fraxel Hurt? | Many women will ask about the discomfort of the treatment, and while there is mild discomfort during the treatment, Dr Pearlman has a proprietary blend of topical numbing agents that ease most of the discomfort so you will feel only mildly uncomfortable. |
How much downtime is there after Fraxel laser treatment? | This will vary depending on the indication we are treating. For deep acne scars and textural issues, there will be overall redness for 3-5 days with mild skin peeling. While healing time after treating hyperpigmentation will produced a more “bronzed” appearance and a peeling effect for 3-7 days after treatment. |
What about after care? | Because PearlMD Rejuvenation uses the newest Fraxel platform on the market, the aftercare is very easy. Upon completing each treatment, you will be provided with a printed and digital copy of your after-care instructions and any product recommendations to facilitate the healing process. It is important to wear a broad-spectrum SPF of 40 or higher for at least 3 months after your treatments. |
