Facial Contouring

Facial Contouring

Facial contouring is the art & science of sculpting, revolumizing, lifting and contouring the face to enhance and rejuvenate. Facial contouring involves the expert application of natural gels to create shape and volume for the desired outcome. Dr. Pearlman and her team approach each patient one by one to ensure a highly individualized approach to achieve one’s best. The result is an enhanced aesthetic created by optimized facial proportion, balance and shape.

With aging there is a dramatic loss of soft and hard tissues of the face including collagen, superficial or (subcutaneous) fat and even the bone structure providing support below. Dermal fillers can restore lost volume and lift sagging tissues, recontouring youth while redefining beauty.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are biological gels formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar molecule that forms a hydrating matrix in our skin and other soft tissues. HA Gels such as Restylene®, Juvederm® and Revanesse® are the preferred technology to rejuvenate facial contours as they are bioequivalent, naturally resorb over time and are reversible should there be a medical or clinical reason to undo their effect.

Areas Treated

Dermal fillers can be used to address hollowing and aging in the temples, under eye area (tear trough), cheeks, nasal folds, mid facial expression lines, jawline and chin. Dermal fillers can also be used to replace lost volume in the hands and ear lobes.

Lip Enhancement

The lips require a honed aesthetic approach to ensure beautiful balanced and safe outcomes. Dr. Pearlman has developed a proprietary 7-step approach to ensure the key 7-features of the lips are rejuvenated and enhanced with each treatment. Dr. Pearlman has been invited to share her master technique with her non-surgical lip lift at international cosmetic meetings.

With a personalized approach each aspect of the lip is enhanced including uplifted corners, enhanced borders, perfected cupid’s bow, enhanced shape, improved texture and rebalanced proportions. The result is a Pearlfect Pout every time.

Feature Enhancement

Dermal Fillers provide an excellent way to expertly augment and enhance the shape of facial features such as the nose, eyes and of course the lips. Treatment in each of these areas requires a high level of expertise and experience. Dr. Pearlman is an internationally renowned master injector and provides important additional steps in each treatment including the use of intra-procedural ultrasound to ensure the utmost of safety along with the very best results.

What to Expect with Treatment

Your facial contouring journey begins with a detailed patient assessment to address your goals, needs and concerns. A personalized plan will be created in partnership with Dr. Pearlman and her team to ensure that your goals are not only met but exceeded! Once you are ready for treatment, your skin and face are cleansed and prepared under aseptic technique. The treatment is nearly painless due to our approach to pain management from before, during and even after treatment. Results are immediate and last anywhere from 6 to 12 months and sometimes longer. While we caution on the risks of treatment, we expect little to no downtime for most patients. A follow up visit will ensure your results not only meet but exceed your expectations.

Am I a candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally safe and there are very few contraindications to treatment. However, we always ask that you inform us of any medical conditions that you may have (including cold sores, as filler may reactivate these), as well as any medications or supplements that you may be taking. This is to ensure that the procedure is safe for you.

You may not receive hyaluronic acid fillers if:

  • You have an infection in the area you wish to treat

  • You have an allergy to any of the components of the filler

  • You take NSAIDS (e.g. aspirin)

  • You have excessive bleeding risks
